Conditions and agreements with Naturalis

Publishing of photos follows these conditions and agreements with Naturalis

  1. The image provider gives Naturalis Biodiversity Center a non-exclusive publication right: it allows the image provider to publish images on different ways; 
  2. This non-exclusive publication right is transferred without financial compensation; 
  3. Naturalis mentions the name of the maker as copyright holder for each individual image;
  4. The image providers are not charged for publishing costs; 
  5. Naturalis presents the images on the Dutch Caribbean Species Register and on other non-commercial biodiversity websites with which Naturalis and partners collaborate. Examples are www.nlbif.nl and www.eol.org
  6. When using photographic material by other parties (see point 5), images are never physically delivered, but only shown via a live link. In such cases the context of the Dutch Caribbean Species Register is always indicated and the photographer is mentioned; 
  7. Naturalis reserves the right to discontinue publication without prior notice; 
  8. Naturalis reserves the right to publish a choice from the offered images at its own discretion; 
  9. The provider indemnifies Naturalis against any claim from third parties in connection with the publication of the images; 
  10. The provider accepts that Naturalis can not guarantee the use that third parties make of the images published by Naturalis, including the re-use of the images and the misuse of author data on these images; 
  11. Naturalis does not act as an intermediary between providers and third parties who wish to reuse images published by Naturalis. If desired, Naturalis can enter a contact address / contact website of the photographer in the Dutch Caribbean Species Register; 
  12. Naturalis has the authority to change supplied data on species names and related taxonomic data according to their own insights; 
  13. Naturalis is not obliged to publish all supplied data.
